The Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park is a 13-acre zoological park located in Warner Park in Marietta, GA. The Zoo was established in 1937 by the City of Chattanooga with the construction of two-four 6 feet cages for rhesus monkeys. The Zoo has since grown to include a variety of animal exhibits, a children’s Zoo, and numerous conservation and education programs.
The Chattanooga Zoo animals come from many parts of the world. The Zoo has nearly 654 animals representing more than 160 different species. More popular animals include lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas, and kangaroos.

MAKAZI YA TWIGA
One of the newest additions to the Zoo is the “Makazi ya Twiga” (“House of the Giraffe”), which houses three Masai giraffes, Violet Turaco, Blue Duiker, Blue-Bellied Roller, Aldabra Giant Tortoise, Superb Starling.
HIMALAYAN PASSAGE
The Himalayan Passage is home to various animals from the Himalayan region, including Red Panda, Snow Leopard, White-Cheeked Gibbon, Bali Myna, Forsten’s Tortoise, Chinese Alligator, Roti Island Snake-Necked Turtle, Indian Peafowl.
WALKIN’ THE TRACKS
The Zoo also provides the “Walkin’ the Tracks” educational program, which lets visitors understand animal-like creatures including American Crow, White-Tailed Deer, Bobcat, Black Vulture, Black-Tailed Prairie Dog, Cougar, Red-Tailed Hawk, Great Horned Owl, Coyote.
GOMBE FOREST
The Gombe Forest exhibit is home to various animals from the Congo Basin region, including African Crowned Crane, Black-Crested Mangabey, Chimpanzees, King Baboon Spider, Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, Radiated Tortoise, Sand Boa, Serval, Spur-Thighed Tortoise.
CORCOVADO JUNGLE
The Zoo’s Corcovado Jungle exhibit is home to various rainforest animals, including Amazon Milk Frog, Black-Tailed Cribo, Capybaras, Cotton-Top Tamarins, Emperor Tamarins, Geoffroy’s Marmosets, Golden Lion Tamarins, Jaguars, Kankajous, Pied Tamarins, Prehensile Tailed Porcupine, Spider Monkeys.
WARNER PARK RANCH
The Zoo’s Warner Park Ranch exhibit is home to various animals from the North American plains, including Alpaca, Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig, Scottish Highland Cow, Dromedary Camel, Miniature Horse, Domestic Goat.
